Termites
Before me a movie like picture unfolded. Rising from the bottom of the scene was a Washington D.C. model. Like the ones that are created to display in Architect offices. The 360 areal view showed the city creamy white and in my opinion pretty impressive with all the details. Then I was captivated by a tall tower and upon further inspection watched a hole appear and grow larger until a massive termite popped out of it, continuing to slowly climb to the top. Then the picture was over.
Laying in bed, I replayed what had just come to mind. It's not uncommon for movie-like scenes to cross my mind. Until lately, I dismissed these little imaginative images. But what if, what if these are ways the Lord shows us things? I believe He created our imaginations, so why should I limit the way He speaks by dismissing these little moments? Sure, maybe not all these little images are from Him, but what if some were?
Therefore, I asked the Lord, "what is this?" In my "gut" the answer came. It was an image of our government and the revelation that there are ill-intentioned people, on the inside, "termites", working their way "to the top."
I asked myself, "what is a termite?" "What do they do?" I concluded that they eat away structures. Therefore weakening them. If not treated, their infestation can lead to, worse case scenario, collapsing what was once a sound structure. Bottom line, they're destructive.
So it seemed that this little movie-like image was not just a silly picture that crossed my mind but one that was actually an invitation to pray.
My invitation to you is, would you partner with me in praying these specific points?

- That the "termites" in our government would be exposed.
- Upon exposure, these termites would have nowhere else to hide. (Characteristically, termites hate light.)
- Proper care to get rid of these "termites" would take place.
**We all have, and rightly so, opinions and thoughts when it comes to political topics. So instead of thinking we know who the termites are, we can trust that as we pray for the ill-intentioned people to be exposed, that they will be indeed. Regardless if they're who we think they are or not. And just like a house inspection, it takes time uncovering layers of the house to find where they are, what the damage is, and what treatment needs to take place.
