Prayer Is Effective

Prayer is Effective

A lot of people like to say that prayer does not work. Because, they have prayed and seen no change. In my experience, prayer is every bit effective. Prayer is where direction and strategies of what to do are birthed. In my experience, prayer has been at the core of seeing change in my life. Absolutely and positively life changing when you press in (stick with whatever you are interceding for) through prayer.

So I brought this to the Lord and this is the question that has been coming to mind (this past week but then again now) “what prevents us from stepping out in ____ (you name it)__?

Do you ever feel in your gut you should do something? But then you are reminded about something you once did and shame overwhelms you? Preventing you from doing whatever it is you felt you could do?
How to tell if it’s shame. These would be your thoughts:
What would people think of me if they knew about ________
People would not like me if they knew_______.

Have you ever felt in your gut to do something but then you suddenly feel insignificant and no reason to be of influence?
That’s not understanding your value as a child of God.

Do you ever feel in your gut that you should do _______ but then you feel like you’d be seen as showing off? So, you don’t want to be confused as anything related to showing off and being better than others. Therefore, you don’t do that prompting in your gut.
That is false humility.

Do you ever feel in your gut to do something….but when you give it a test run, someone you respect challenges what you are saying? (whether constructive or destructive?) Therefore, the painful experience keeps you from stepping out and sharing something you felt was divinely inspired to share with others. (That’s me!)
That’s allowing pain to dictate your actions, rather than trusting the Lord.

Guys, the enemy has been very successful at silencing a ton of people. Can you imagine if we all knew our identity in Christ? Can you imagine if we all walked confidently in it; even when reminders of our past are brought up? Whether it’s in our thoughts or people speaking doubt and disbelief we can still go forward because of who God says we are. Redeemed, loved and made purposefully for such a time as this. Because the Spirit of the Lord is in us, I believe we are all anointed to: to bring good news to the poor, comfort the brokenhearted, proclaim captives released in Jesus name and prisoners freed. He has sent us to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against our enemies. Read more about this in Isaiah 61.

I hope this helps bring perspective to the idea that maybe there are few in your sphere of influence that have been willing to step out and do the promptings the Lord inspires them to do. The Lord is always looking for willing vessels to work through. To see change, you just might be the answer to prayers that have been prayed. To actively see change, our focus needs to be on the Lord. Be willing to do what He confirms in your spirit to be doing. There is often resistance when we step out in faith. Whether it’s overtly obvious of quietly subtle. Don’t give up doing what is good! In due time, we will receive a harvest of blessings. (Galatians 6:9) Keep interceding! Ask God to release His angels to do the work in the spiritual realm around you.

Be ready to be an answer to prayers prayed.
Breakthrough is coming!
