A Walk in a Sunlit Field

Smiles shine, sun glows, grass sways in the gentle breeze. This is the life. Such a beautiful life. Photographed in these snapshots are moments tonight that fill my heart with love and peace. The joy it is to be a wife and mother, to these amazing people, is nothing short of exciting and special.

After closing my daughters bedroom door for the night I walked down the hallway and walked into my husband's arms and cried. With big highs can come big lows too. I cried because consequences needed to be given due to behavior. We both missed out on the fun of snuggling and singing after story time.

Love, it's a crazy thing. It's not only an emotion you feel deep down in the fabric of your being but an action and decision you make as well. My children do not understand it now, but one day I pray they know that just like the sunset, grass swaying, bouncing through the field evenings, our love for them is the same in the not so fun consequences, we follow through in giving. Training our children up in the way they should go is not always a walk through a sunlit field but we are so incredibly proud to be parents to these amazing children and we wouldn't have it any other way!
