Oh Me of Little Faith

After all food had been measured, bagged, and or cooked we were basically set! Students were on their way and we were ready…mostly.
Josh’s back went out. [He and his wife Jen are the school leaders of YWAM Ozarks DTS]. It just went out; he had done no heavy lifting or anything out of the ordinary. His back was just out and he was in pain. How timely! Now, it seems to me that when something good is coming or about to happen something horrible/unpleasant happens just beforehand. Anyways, we needed a plan; plan B and C were created. Now something that I absolutely love about working with these people is their faith! Man, how nice it is to be surrounded by so many God fearin’ people. So moving on…it was the following evening, ‘Welcome Night’ for our students. Dessert was served, YWAM Ozark’s history/ story was shared and introductions made…oh what night! After the festivities Josh asked for prayer. [Why is this not my first reaction?! I could not help but think of what humility that would take to ask for prayer, especially in front of many.] So, we laid hands on Josh and prayed. I was blown away at the power of prayer that evening. The evening ended with cleaning and hesitant [on my part] celebration. -- While picking up garbage and washing down counters we all at one point stopped to observe Josh…he was bending down [something very painful before] and moving [as if dancing to a wii game-which are ridiculous moves]…was he okay?!? Did God seriously answer our prayers with healing?! But, why of course, why would God not answer so quickly? Now I have always believed prayer can heal, I read about it and hear testimonies with God’s healing hand…but right here? Right now?, With somebody I know? --- Slight shock at what I was reminded of… “Oh you of little faith Rebecca! The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective!”

Josh was not at 100% but a great deal better---this meant we were going on our trip[!]. And just to add to the sweetness this was the best intro-trip Ywam Ozarks has ever led. The weather was absolutely perfect; no one broke any bones, not to mention - I think the students are pretty top notch;]

In all, God truly does hear your prayers. He does heal. My head knowledge: believing in faith that God will answer your prayers truly became heart knowledge.
Side note: if you’re irritated because of this, I would love to say one thing from experience…praying doesn’t mean immediate results. Prayer is a conversation journey with our Maker and lover in Heaven. Several years ago I had prayed this specific prayer. I had asked the Lord if he would bring a man to ask, I'll just call him Allen, about his faith; that he may preach it to him and to others around him, that it may encourage and help himself as well. To say the least would be to say God brought forth this prayer to life.[!] I remember reading Allen's email on how such and such was going and it blew my socks off!--Because there in black and white was my answered prayer written to me...Tears of shock and amazement rolled down my cheek. I had not been thinking about those prayers, granted it also had been about five or six years...until that moment…. =) ALL that to say patience and trust . Give what you’re dealing with into God’s hands. He will answer your prayers.
